Divorced Fathers Network Mission Statement and Goals

Mission Statement

"The Divorced Fathers Network is a peer support nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to improving the lives of children, fathers and mothers by supporting engaged, effective fathering during and after divorce."

Goal

The Divorced Fathers Network would like to provide Shared Parenting classes in communities across the United States. The Divorced Fathers Network plans to launch two new groups in January 2006. Both Pacific Grove, California and Beverly Hills, California will soon have free co-parenting classes to assist families facing divorce.

How does the Divorced Fathers Network keep fathers and their children involved with each other?

Providing emotional support for fathers through free weekly meetings
Brainstorming with newly divorced fathers ways to build shared parenting relationships
Family friendly resources such as books, mediators, counselors, and mentors are discussed regularly in co-parenting classes
Encouraging fathers to use mediation whenever possible
Modeling for each other successful shared parenting
Providing free family events
